The Koori side posted an imposing 201 runs off its 20 overs at Allen Oval in sensational conditions, with Matt Brown top-scoring on 37 runs.

Robbie Lowe also made 25 among a host of contributors, while the police shared the wickets.

In reply, the police side struggled to scrape together 124 runs on the back of Jason Bourke’s 36 and Rob Wilson’s 24.

Leading Senior Constable Reg Evans said the game was played in great spirit, with the Koori team able to win almost effortlessly.

“These annual games started in 2005 and we won a few early on, but the Lore side has now won the past two clashes,” he said. “There was an excellent crowd in attendance. The kids had a ball on the jumping castle and it was a great community day.

“The dynamics have certainly changed in the past two years and we’ll have to put a lot more effort into our recruiting, training and selection for next year.”
