A spotter plane and ground crews are monitoring outbreaks at Framlingham and Branxholme which were brought under control yesterday.

Regional incident controller Henry Barton told The Standard online that some parts of the district received between 12 and 15 millimetres of rain overnight. “It was enough to dampen things down, but other conditions are still there – temperature and wind speed,” he said.

“There is stll the risk of lightning strikes.

“People still need to exercise caution because the risk of new fires is still current.”
