Environment and Climate Change Minister Ryan Smith is encouraging industry, community and local government to comment on a waste policy review discussion paper released this month.

“As Victoria continues to grow and sustainability remains a key focus it is essential we take the initiative to rethink what we regard as waste as well as the potential for its treatment recovery,” he said.

South West Regional Waste Management Group executive officer Kerrie Tomkins said a discussion workshop would be held in Hamilton on April 3. The discussion paper is available on the Department of Sustainability and Environment website and comments must be submitted by May 3.
