A PORTLAND restaurant was broken into overnight on Tuesday and a small amount of cash stolen.

Detective Sergeant Steve Brown, of the Portland police Crime Investigation Unit, said a rear door was forced open at the Pickled Pelican in Portland’s Percy Street between 6.30pm Tuesday and 7.30am Wednesday.

He said a small amount of cash was stolen and the door had to be repaired.

“Anyone with information is requested to contact Crime Stoppers or the Portland police,” Detective Sergeant Brown said.
