MORTLAKE’S appeal over the reversal of its round nine win against Camperdown will be heard by an independent tribunal tonight.

South West Cricket (SWC) secretary Grant Myers yesterday confirmed that a panel would hear the case at the Camperdown RSL hall from 7.30pm.

Mortlake eclipsed the Lakers’ total of 9-322 on February 18 with two balls to spare, but the Cats were penalised because they arrived late to Camperdown turf.

The incident caused the Cats to drop from second to fourth on the ladder.

The result of the appeal will impact on the final make-up of SWC’s top four, with the competition in the middle of its last home-and-away round.
