He is credited with 63 state junior titles and seven national junior events.

The coach will start the SWAS role on Sunday, when he will take charge of the academy’s tennis players at the first of many training sessions.

“(I’m) delighted to accept the role as head coach and look forward with great anticipation to making a significant difference to the tennis stocks in the south-west region,” Hill said.

“It is now time for the tennis world to look at south-west Victoria for the next group of champions.”

SWAS will launch its tennis program at Warrnambool Lawn Tennis Club on Sunday from 10am to 1pm.
