A CAMPERDOWN man is expected to be issued with a $611 penalty notice for driving an unregistered car after he was involved in a collision in Cobden one day after his rego expired.

Cobden police reported that there was a two-car collision at the intersection of Victoria and Smith streets, Cobden, at 1.55pm on Monday.

There were no injuries although both vehicles were extensively damaged and had to be towed from the accident scene.

The 46-year-old Camperdown is expected to be issued with two penalty notices, one for failing to give way and the other for driving an unregistered vehicle. The penalty for failing to give way is $214.
